This particularly serious crime was committed in 1984 in the town of Sharya, Kostroma Region. While they were drinking alcohol, a conflict arose between the men, during which the guest inflicted several wounds on the host with a kitchen knife.

The victim died at the scene. The second victim was an acquaintance of the homeowner who came to visit him. The offender killed the unwanted witness, hid both bodies in the basement, padlocked the house and fled.

In the course of work on solving crimes of the past years, police officers and employees of the Main Department of Criminalistics and the Forensic Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia established the identity of the suspect. The previously repeatedly convicted man was detained in the Leningrad Region and handed over to the investigative authorities.
