“Today at the airport of Santo Domingo representatives of competent authorities of the Dominican Republic handed over Armen Nersesyan to the Russian colleagues. The Russian citizen was wanted as an offender convicted of a major fraud.
According to the available data, between 2014 and 2016, the offender organized the construction of an apartment building in the city of Anapa. Under the pretext of further transfer of the premises into ownership, he received more than 30 million rubles from investors. However, he did not fulfill his obligations and the property went to other persons. Thus, the money was stolen, the suspect fled abroad.
In January 2017, a criminal case was instituted on the grounds of a crime under Article 159 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Six months later, Armen Nersesyan was found guilty by the decision of the Anapa City Court of the Krasnodar Territory.
Pursuant to an instruction from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and on the basis of materials provided by the MIA of Russia GA for the Krasnodar Territory, international search for the defendant was organized.
Through Interpol cooperation, information was received from Dominican counterparts that the wanted person had been apprehended. He will be delivered to the Russian Federation,” said the Spokesperson for the Russian MIA Irina Volk.
