Deputy-Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel-General Andrey Khrapov took part in the closing ceremony of the mini-football championship among territorial bodies and educational organizations of the MIA of Russia. The competition was held in the city of St. Petersburg.

For several days more than 800 athletes in 79 teams from 62 regions of our country demonstrated sportsmanship, determination and will to win.

The award ceremony was also attended by Police Lieutenant-General Roman Plugin, Chief of the MIA of Russia GA for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Police Lieutenant-General Igor Amelchakov, Chief of the St. Petersburg University of the MIA of Russia, and Boris Piotrovsky, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, Deputy Chief of the MIA of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Police Major-General Oleg Dorofeev, Chief of the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School of the MIA of Russia, Police Major-General Igor Medvedev, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg. Anton Solovyev, chairman of the specialized commission on physical culture and sports of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, Police Colonel Aleksandr Ermolaev, Chief of the Department for work with personnel of the MIA of Russia GA for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Dmitry Ignatenko, President of the soccer training center “Ascent” and other honored guests.

In his speech Andrey Khrapov noted: “The Ministry of Internal Affairs pays a lot of attention to the development of sports. Active physical training strengthens moral and will qualities, mutual support, discipline, and promotes responsibility. I am convinced that the soccer battles held in uncompromising and fair competition served to improve the physical training of personnel, as well as to strengthen cooperation, camaraderie and mutual understanding between you.”

The prize places were distributed as follows:

In Group I:

The champion was the team of the MIA of Russia GA for the Krasnodar Territory;

2^nd place went to the team of the MIA of Russia GA for the Moscow Region;

3^rd place was won by the team of the MIA of Russia GA for the Chelyabinsk Region;

In Group II:

I place – MIA of Russia Administration for the Vladimir Region;

II place – MIA of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania;

III place – MIA of Russia Administration for the Amur Region.

Among educational organizations of the Russian MIA, the team of the V.Ya. Kikot Moscow University of the Russian MIA became the winner.

Athletes from the St. Petersburg University of the MIA of Russia took silver.

Bronze medalists went to the team of the Omsk Academy of the MIA of Russia.

Andrey Khrapov congratulated the champions on the victory, wished all participants of the tournament new sports achievements and success in the service.
