In North Ossetia there were held events dedicated to the Heroes of the Fatherland Day
On December 9, Russian celebrates the Heroes' of the Fatherland Day. The date approved by the Russian government in 2007, had not been chosen by chance - on this day in 1769 the Empress Catherine II established the "Order of St. George." It was awarded to soldiers who had demonstrated exceptional courage in a battle.
