On the basis of the Novorossiysk branch of the Krasnodar University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, chaired by the Chief of the MIA of Russia Main Directorate for Combating Extremism, Major-General of Police Oleg Ilyinykh, the All-Russian seminar-meeting of the chiefs of units countering the extremism from the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was held.
The participants of the event discussed topical issues of further improvement of the operational and service activities, methodological and scientific support of the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in countering extremism and terrorism in modern conditions.
Representatives of the State Duma’s Committee for Security and Combating the Corruption of the Federal Assembly of Russia, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, the Federal Security Service of Russia, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the Rosgvardia, and civil society took part in the discussion of legal issues and interdepartmental cooperation in this area.
During the meeting, participants and invited guests exchanged views and shared positive experience in curbing the activities of extremist and terrorist structures in the regions of the Russian Federation, in matters of interdepartmental cooperation and the use of information technologies to counter extremist activities in the Internet.
Special attention was paid to the application of the norms of administrative and criminal legislation, to responsibility for inciting hatred or hostility, as well as to measures of preventing extremist and terrorist manifestations.
