The tenth meeting of the Russian-Chinese Joint Working Group on Migration was held on March 15, 2017 in Beijing, People's Republic of China.
The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Chief of the General Administration for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Dmitry Demidenko. The Russian delegation also included representatives of the Russian MIA, the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, and the Russian Embassy in the PRC.
The Chinese delegation was headed by Deputy Chief of the Entry-Exit Department of the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China Chen Bin. The Chinese delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Public Security of the PRC and the Chinese Embassy in Russia.
The leaders of the Working Group emphasized that the two states have created and are implementing the legal framework in the area of migration (Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Cooperation in Combating Illegal Migration dated March 22, 2013 and Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Facilitating Citizens’ Travel dated March 22, 2013) aimed at deepening the bilateral cooperation.
The parties discussed the issues of fulfillment of the terms stipulated in the above Agreements, combating illegal migration, and strengthening of the dialogue and cooperation, including as regards facilitation of trips of citizens of both states.
Based on the results of the meeting of the Russian-Chinese Joint Working Group on Migration, the parties signed the Protocol.
The participants in the event believe that the work performed shall promote the fulfillment of the earlier approved agreements and further deepening of the cooperation.
The next meeting of the Working Group will be held in 2018 in the Russian Federation.
