“Policemen of the Criminal Investigation Administration of the Russian MIA General Administration for the Moscow Region together with colleagues from Intermunicipal Division 'Pavlovsky-Posadsky' of the Russian MIA, the Russian MIA Administration for urban district Elektrostal, Intermunicipal Administration 'Noginskoye' of the Russian MIA, and Intermunicipal Administration 'Balashikhinskoye' of the Russian MIA detained members of the gang specialized in residential burglaries,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
It was established that the malefactors had pressed out double-glazed windows, illegally invaded apartments and stolen jewelry, computers and cash from there. As a result of the implemented investigation and search operations, policemen identified and captured five men aged from 34 to 46 suspected of those crimes who had several prior convictions. In the course of the searches carried out at their places of residence, policemen detected and seized: 19 mobile telephones, over 20 SIM cards of various mobile operators, 3 notebooks, 4 dashboard cameras, 3 wristwatches, 5 sets of tools, 2 dirks, a hunting knife, 4 photo cameras, jewelry and bijoux, perfumes, steals, men's clutches and purses.
The police proved the offenders' involvement in 25 cases of illicit activities perpetrated in the Moscow Region. The overall financial damage had approximated 3 million rubles. The authorities initiated criminal cases on those facts subject to Article 158 “Theft” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court remanded four suspects into the custody; one suspect gave written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly.
