“Policemen detained the head of the curriculum department of a university in Samara on suspicion of illegal receipt of 20,000 rubles from a student,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
The circumstances of bribe taking were documented by employees of the Division for Economic Security and Combating the Corruption of the Russian MIA Administration for Samara.
According to the materials collected by the police, the local woman born in 1951, being the head of the curriculum department of a university in the regional center, had received 20,000 rubles from a student for a mark in the student's record book of having passed the previously failed examinations. The suspect was detained by policemen at the time of the cash transfer.
By the moment, the Investigation Administration of the Russian Investigation Committee for the Samara Region has initiated a criminal case based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Part 3 Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Restraint in the form of written undertaking not to leave was imposed on the suspect.
