“Police Major Levan Meboniya rushed into the construction pit filled with water to rescue the 11-year old boy who had fallen into it,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
On his way to the job, Deputy Commander of the Patrol and Inspection Service of the Russian MIA Division for Goryachy Klyuch of the Russian MIA General Administration for the Krasnodar Territory Levan Meboniya heard calls for help from behind the high fence on the side of the construction facility. At the same time, two boys ran up to him and said that their friend was drowning at the construction site. Without any hesitation, the policeman sprang through a gap in the fence and saw that the child was floundering about in the water hardly holding onto a snag in the pit dug around the construction facility. The Police Major rushed into the ice water and saved the drowning boy.
The policeman carried the rescued child to the police division nearby. The schoolboy warmed up and changed the clothes there; the ambulance that arrived provided appropriate aid, after which the child was delivered to the parents. The management of the Russian MIA Division for Goryachy Klyuch is currently considering the issue on awarding the meritorious policeman.
