Employees of the Administration for Drug Control of the Russian MIA for the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania received information about a drug den organized in a house in Tsalikova Street where drug addicts had gathered. The police put the house under surveillance. The results of the inspection carried out by the police confirmed the obtained information about the drug den.
Policemen established that a 44-year old resident of Vladikavkaz having several prior convictions under different articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including convictions for illegal drug trafficking, had provided his housing for drug consumption.
The flat owner and three “visitors” – a man and two women – were detained. All of them are residents of Vladikavkaz aged from 31 to 38, having prior convictions under various articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The medical examination confirmed that they had used narcotic drugs. In the course of the personal search of the house owner, policemen also detected and seized poppy straw. The police searched the house and found used syringes, utensils and tools with traces evidencing the fact of production of narcotic drugs.
The police initiated a criminal case based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Article 232 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction under this article provides for up to four-year imprisonment.
The three “visitors” of the drug den were subjected to administrative liability according to Article 6.9 “Consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances without prescription” of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses.
