“Today, specialists of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Russian MIA supported the extradition from the United Arab Emirates to Moscow of Oleg Shamanin suspected of having established a criminal community in Severodvinsk of the Arkhangelsk Region,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
In May 2015, at the initiative of the Russian MIA Administration for the Arkhangelsk Region, Shamanin was put on Interpol's wanted list. A year later, the accused was detained in the UAE. And in November 2016, the competent authorities of the UAE approved the decision to extradite him to Russia.
The defendant together with his accomplices had developed an unlawful scheme for squeezing money from businessmen menacing them with violence.
