“Policemen of the Russian MIA Division for the Butyrsky District of the Administration of Internal Affairs for the North-Eastern Administrative District of the Russian MIA General Administration for Moscow rescued the victim from fire and detained the attempted murder suspect who had set fire to the apartment,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
The Duty Unit of the Russian MIA Division for the Butyrsky District received a message about fire in an apartment in a building on Yablochkova Street in Moscow. A woman who had managed to run out from the burning apartment addressed the policemen who arrived at the scene. She said that a young man whom she knew had beaten her and their common acquaintance with an adjustable wrench, after which the man had lost consciousness.
Then the malefactor had poured a highly inflammable liquid over the room where the victims had been and set fire to it. The woman also explained that her acquaintances still remained in the burning apartment.
The policemen immediately entered the burning apartment. An employee of the Patrol and Inspection Service of the Russian MIA Division for the Butyrsky District carried the unconscious victim outside in his arms. The malefactor was also inside and was detained – that was a previously convicted 27-year old native of a near-abroad country.
The General Investigation Administration of the Russian Investigation Committee for Moscow initiated a criminal case on that fact based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Part 3 Article 30 and Part 2 Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
