“The Surgut Linear Division for Transport of the Russian MIA received information about a large batch of narcotic drugs delivered to Surgut. In the course of subsequent measures, the police detected a website offering drugs and psychotropic substances spice and JWH and describing the detailed scheme for drug purchase and delivery, as well as methods of payment,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
As a result of further investigation and search operations, policemen of the Division for Drug Control of the Surgut Linear Division for Transport of the Russian MIA identified and detained a 32-year old resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The suspect was detained in the territory of a summer cottage cooperative where he had made a cache of about one kilogram of drugs packed in polymeric packets and wrapped in foil. Later in the adjoining forest, the police also detected two other caches with nearly 700 grams of drugs planned to be sold to the population.
The police searched the suspect's place of residence and seized physical evidence proving the unlawful activity of the resident of Krasnoyarsk: 749 packages with drugs weighing over 3 kilograms, scales, packing materials, computer hardware and a mobile telephone with potential buyers' data, as well as bank cards where money from drug distribution had been accumulated.
The detained man said that, using the Internet-resource meant for distribution of outlawed substances, he had been selling drugs through caches in Surgut for several months and had been using the obtained money for his personal needs.
By the moment, the police have initiated 5 criminal cases against the malefactor, including 2 cases – based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Part 3 Article 30 and Part 4 Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and 3 cases – based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Part 3 Article 30 and Part 5 Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court imposed restraint in the form of pre-trial detention on the detained man.
