“Employees of the General Investigation Administration together with the Administration for Economic Security and Combating the Corruption of the Russian MIA General Administration for Moscow and servicemen of the Economic Security Service of the Russian FSB suppressed unlawful activities of six natives of the North Caucasus accused of distribution of counterfeit 5,000 ruble notes,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
As was established, the accomplices had distributed counterfeit banknotes of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in the Moscow Region for a total amount exceeding 680,000 rubles.
The General Investigation Administration of the Moscow police administration initiated a criminal case on that fact based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Article 186 “Production, storage, transportation or use of counterfeit money or securities” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
In the course of the investigation and search operations, six natives of the North Caucasian Federal District suspected of that illegal activity were detained under Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. They were charged with the crime stipulated by Part 2 Article 35 and Part 1 Article 186 “Production, storage, transportation or use of counterfeit money or securities” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
By now, restraint in the form of remand has been imposed on the accused.
