State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov held a ceremonial meeting to mark the 70th anniversary of the Russian MIA Legal Service.

Opening the event, Igor Zubov noted that the Legal Service had been a major division of the Ministry. Many things depend on its work, while the performance of the Ministry's lawyers directly impacts final results of the operations and service of the entire Russian MIA.

Words of greeting were spoken by representatives of the Presidential Executive Office and the Government of the Russian Federation, of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, Human Rights Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova, and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vasilyev, as well as renowned defence lawyers and experts.

The Russian MIA Legal Service will celebrate its 70th anniversary on July 19, 2016. A number of events will take place within the celebration of this date, including the all-Russian meeting-workshop of executives of legal divisions, an international research and practice conference and meeting of the Russian MIA Expert Law-Making Council, as well as the final round of the All-Russian Professional Excellence Contest among employees of legal divisions “Best in Profession” and the ceremony of awarding the winners.
