Igor Zubov opened the II International Policewomen's Forum

Today in Moscow, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Zubov took part in the opening of the II International Policewomen's Forum.

Opening the forum, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Zubov noted that the Russian MIA paid special attention to the international cooperation development. He emphasized that in today's tough times the importance of non-politicized police, establishment of real business contacts among police services of different countries was increasing manifold.

Igor Zubov expressed deep appreciation to all policewomen who were doing their hard job on a par with men often demonstrating heroism and courage.

Over two hundred policewomen from 28 countries participate in the Forum. The main goal of the event is to enhance the international professional and cultural cooperation.

Law enforcement employees will discuss the influence of women with a proactive approach to life on the development of integration processes, increase in the ethical and professional level of the police, formation of a favourable psychological climate. Forum participants will also share their vast experience, discuss problems that should be tackled by law enforcement bodies, and compete in applied sports.

This unique event was organized by the Russian Council of Veterans of Internal Affairs Bodies and Internal Troops, as well as public organizations: the Russian Police Association of the IPA, the Association of Women of the Moscow Police, and Officers of Russia.

Currently, over 170 thousand women serve in various divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Only in 2015 - 2016, thirty nine of them received state awards. In 1999, Irina Yanina received the title of the Hero of the Russian Federation posthumously for the heroism demonstrated in the operation in the Caucasus region.
