“Officers of Division of Economic Security and Combating the Corruption of the MIA Administration for the Nizhnekamsky District detained two citizens of Nizhnekamsk on suspicion of unlawful use of a trademark,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
The police have established that the suspects supplied cheese to 72 municipal pre-school educational institutions of Nizhnekamsk. In total, the offenders delivered 4,986 kg of cheese under a famous trademark.
As a result of operational search activities in wholesale warehouses the police seized more than 1,000 self-adhesive labels of famous brands and unmarked finished products, samples of which were sent for analysis to the Rospotrebnadzor of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to the investigation results, the products containing vegetable fats, have been recognized as not suitable for nutrition of children. The seized surrogate has been transferred to custody of an authorized organization.
The Inquiry unit of the MIA Administration for the Nizhnekamsky District prosecuted the fact of a crime stipulated by Part 3 of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal use of a trademark).
The sanctions of this article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 6 years with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.
