Day of the MIA of Russia investigative units

Today, the MIA investigators celebrate their professional holiday.

The history of the Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs starts on April 6, 1963, when a Decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR transferred the right to the preliminary investigation to the internal affairs bodies. Over the past decades, the department has undergone numerous reforms, the Law was changing, as well as the structure and strength of the preliminary investigation bodies, but there remained unchanged the dedication to the service and strict adherence to the letter of the law.

Today - it is the largest investigative unit of the country, which together with the operational, specific and forensic units successfully investigates criminal cases of different levels of complexity. In particular, thefts of budget funds for billions of rubles and intricate scams in credit and financial sphere, the crimes in the military-industrial complex and housing and communal services, in the sphere of high technology and computer information, organized crime and drug cartels' criminal activities as well as multi-episode burglaries.

Investigators perform their tasks with great respect for the law and their profession. Every year, they investigates around 1.5 million of criminal cases. At the same time, more than 60% of the personnel are officers - women, whose frail shoulders sometimes carry numerous difficulties of the service.

On their professional holiday, the personnel of investigative units in the MIA of Russia system was congratulated by the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and colleagues, wishing them good health, prosperity and success in the service and further fruitful work for the benefit of the Fatherland!

Special words of gratitude to the veterans - those who stood at the cradle of the investigative unit, created the glorious traditions of the investigation, who are now couches for the young, helping in the investigation of criminal cases and who serve as an example for the younger generation of the staff.
