In January and February 2016, 370.3 thousand crimes were recorded in the Russian Federation, which is 7.3% higher year-over-year.

Deaths and infliction of grievous bodily harm due to criminal intrusions considerably reduced by 9% and 9.3% respectively. Crimes with arms also decreased by 12.7% (1.1 thousand).

The damaged caused by offenses (under accomplished and suspended criminal cases) totaled 65.14 billion rubles, which is 46.6% more year-over-year.

Over the two months, 38.1 thousand crimes involving illegal drug trafficking were revealed, 23.3 thousand of them - by the internal affairs bodies.

The number of recorded terrorism crimes increased by 52.4% (439), the number of extremism crimes - by 12.8% (220).

199.8 thousand crimes (+6.3%) were solved, including 86.8 thousand offenses with mandatory investigation and 113 thousand with optional investigation.

One of two investigated crimes was committed by persons who had previously committed crimes, one of three - in a drunken state, one of twenty five - by juveniles or with their participation.

The number of offenses against foreigners and stateless persons reduced by 5.7%, while crimes committed by that category in the Russian Federation decreased by 4.1%, including by citizens the CIS member states - by 3.3%.
