The Kamchatka and the Khabarovsk Territory summed up the preventive operation "Fishing Season-2015"

"From May 26 to September 30, during a special operation "Fishing Season-2015", law enforcement officers of Kamchatka initiated more than 200 criminal cases against individuals and organizations suspected of illicit trafficking of aquatic biological resources," - said the official representative of the Russian MIA Elena Alekseeva.

85 criminal cases were sent to court. The police seized from poachers nearly 50 tons of salmon, about four tons of raw-caviar and more than 26 tons of salted caviar, and about seventeen hundred tins of canned crab and 179 live crabs. In addition, the offenders were deprived of 187 boats, 88-wheel motors, more than 10.5 kilometers of nets, as well as 5 vehicles.

The largest number - 101 criminal cases on the illegal extraction of water bioresources were initiated by interrogators of the Elizovo Police Division. In Ust-Bolsheretsk - 48 (where the operation "Fishing season" was extended for another two weeks) criminal cases and in Vilyuchinsk - 30 criminal cases on facts of poaching. In Ust-Kamchatsk the police initiated 17 criminal cases against the suspects, in Milkovo - 2 criminal cases. In Koryakia 8 poachers will be held criminally liable.

Among the participants of the operation "Fishing Season-2015" in addition to officers of the Kamchatka Police there were representatives of other agencies: the North-Eastern Territorial Department of the Federal Fisheries Agency, FSB Department for the eastern Arctic District and representatives of public organizations.

Khabarovsk Territory Police summed up the preliminary results of the autumn phase of the operation "Fishing Season-2015".

According to the official representative of the Russian MIA Elena Alekseeva: "Every day, from the beginning of the operation the police in the waters of the rivers and on the roads of northern districts of the Khabarovsk Territory is patrolling the area. In the raids they use boats, helicopters and drones."

Within the framework of the operation, officers of the regional police in cooperation with other concerned agencies are working intensively to detect and suppress the facts of poaching, illegal processing and marketing of fish products.

Special efforts are focused on identifying disguised crimes, malfeasance and serious crimes committed in the sphere of circulation of aquatic biological resources, as well as crimes committed by organized criminal groups.

Officers of the Criminal Investigation Administration for the Territory together with riot police and SWAT detained more than 500 citizens. They are suspected of illegal fishing, processing fish as well as salmon and sturgeon caviar.

With respect to the detainees there were compiled 585 reports on administrative offenses, initiated 90 criminal cases on illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources, seized and destroyed 176 set lines (Akhan) with a total length of more than 6 kilometers. More than 120 species of sturgeon were returned to the natural habitat.

During the operation, the police seized from illegal turnover more than 830 kg of sturgeon caviar, more than 1.5 tons of salmon caviar, as well as more than 6.5 tons of salmon and about a ton of sturgeon.

Preventive operations in the framework of the operation "Fishing Season-Fall 2015" in the Khabarovsk Territory are continuing.
