Russian and Lithuanian police discussed issues of cooperation in the field of combating illegal migration

Today in Kaliningrad within the frame of the third meeting of the Operative Committee of the Personal Representatives of the Council of Baltic Sea States (CBSS), there took place a working meeting of representatives of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs with their colleagues from Lithuania.

The dialog of Russian and Lithuanian police was dedicated to working out joint measures to stop illegal migration channels. It has been noted that rapid exchange of information is essential to solve this problem.

According to the Chief of the MIA General Administration in Kaliningrad  Yevgeny Martynov, in the past year and a half in the region there were recorded 37 cases of illegal border crossing. He said that the offenders attempted to get to Lithuania and Poland.

It should be noted that in Kaliningrad there works for the second day the international forum, at which authorized coordinators of the member countries of the Group of Personal Representatives of Heads of Government of the CBSS countries discuss the issues of combating organized crime in the Baltic Sea region.
