In Norilsk, on the basis of a criminal case investigated by the police, the court convicted a 30-year-old man who had committed a theft of 10.5 million rubles.
The police established, that a local resident before retiring from a banking institution activated and stole 127 credit cards and then fled. Possessing the PIN codes to the cards, the man at ATMs in different cities of the country cashed 10.5 million rubles. He spent the stolen money on renting expensive apartments and entertainment.
For 2 years, the offender was on the federal wanted list, and in June this year, he was detained by Criminal Investigation operatives in the city of Omsk. With regard to the detainee the police investigators initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime stipulated by article "Fraud" of the RF Criminal Code.
The court convicted the man and sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment.
