The duty-unit of the MIA Administration for the city of Ivanovo was contacted by the CEO of one of the textile companies. He reported a fact of fraud committed by offenders against his firm.
The police found that the company of the victim received from the offenders through the Internet a profitable order for the purchase of a large amount of fabrics. Under the terms of the contract prior to shipment of goods to the customer, the buyer had to submit payment documents on the transfer of money to the account of the company-seller. In turn, the pseudo-customers delayed the transaction to the end of the working week and sent the payment order only on Friday, demanding the fulfillment of obligations under the contract. Thus, the suppliers were unable to check the receipt of the money to their account until Monday and shipped the goods on the weekend, thinking that it was already paid for. However, the money was not received to the account of the sellers of textiles and the payment orders turned to be fake.
A criminal case under the "Fraud" article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation has been initiated on this fact.
As a result of the operational-search and technical activities the police identified the suspects of committing the property crime. Officers of the Administration of Economic Security and Combating the Corruption of the MIA Regional Administration under the guise of businessmen made contact with the offenders and detained them. They turned out to be citizens of Russia and the Republic of Armenia living in the city of Moscow.
The suspects of fraud were taken to a temporary detention facility. The preliminary investigation establishes the involvement of the detainees in a series of similar crimes.
