The Investigation Administration of the Russian MIA Administration for Arkhangelsk accomplished the investigation of the criminal case against two men accused of counterfeit money distribution in the regional center.
In May 2014, the police detected mass distribution of counterfeit 5,000 ruble notes in the territory of Arkhangelsk. In the course of the investigative work, policemen of the Administration for Economic Security and Combating the Corruption identified the men suspected of having committed those crimes – two residents of the Republic of Dagestan. The police obtained information that the malefactors had left for the Vologda Region to continue their illegal activity there. Together with the colleagues from the neighboring region, policemen detained the suspects.
In the course of the search of the car used by the malefactors, the police found 155 five thousand ruble banknotes with signs of counterfeit. Experts confirmed that the confiscated banknotes were counterfeit.
The police established that the men had been involved in counterfeit money distribution in the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk Regions. By now, the criminal case has been forwarded to the court.
