In the course of operation "Fishing Season - 2015" illegal catch of salmon was halted by the Police in the Kamchatka Territory

"In the course of operational and search activities in the framework of operation" Fishing Season-2015" officers of the MIA  Administration for the Kamchatka Territory detained on the banks of the  Paratunka river  two unemployed locals suspected of illegal catching of salmon using the 70-meter net" - said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Elena Alekseeva.

During the search of the suspects the police found and seized the catch weighting over 700 kilograms, fishing gear and the boats "Cayman" and "Admiral".

For a similar offense  two men detained by the police on the river Koryachka will face criminal charges. Their illegal catch of pink salmon was 56 kilograms. In addition, the Police detained several citizens who were catching the valuable fish exclusively  for extracting caviar gutting the fowled fish on the bank. The Police seized about 50 roes of caviar.

Since the beginning of operation "Fishing Season - 2015" there have been recorded 293 reports of violations related to the extraction of aquatic biological resources. 146 people.were held administratively liable. On the grounds of crime stipulated by Art. 256 of the Criminal Code "Illegal extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources", there have been initiated 146 criminal cases. In total the were seized seven thousand meters of nets, 112 boats, 50 outboard motors, 2 vehicles, as well as about three thousand kilograms of red caviar and nearly 44 tons of fish.
