The investigation unit of the MIA Division for the  Anzhero-Sudzhensky city district completed the investigation of a criminal case initiated against a local resident on seven episodes of committed fraud  causing significant damage to citizens.

The 28-year-old suspect of a series of frauds was detained by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the MIA General Administration for the Kemerovo Region, together with colleagues from the MIA Division for the Anzhero-Sudzhensky city district in November 2014.

Residents of different regions of Russia suffered from the activities of the offender. The man was looking for his victims in the Internet on sites of private announcements. Having found the appropriate announcement he was referring to the author with a proposal to buy. He promised to transfer the money for the goods  to a bank card. Then the offender asked the seller to come to an ATM to make sure that the money was received. Then, under various pretexts he dictated combinations. Thus the victim got his card connected to the service of on-line payments and provides the attacker with the login and password to access the private account. After receiving the data of bank cards, the defendant stole the money from the accounts of victims.

During the search of the residence of the previously convicted detainee the Police seized four mobile phones, seven SIM cards, four bank cards and a laptop.

As was established by the police, the suspect learned this scheme of fraud in a penal colony where he was serving a punishment. Upon his release, he got a job as a taxi driver, but soon got in an accident and crashed the car. The money for the restoration the offender decided to get by fraud. The total damage suffered by the victims amounted to more than 300 thousand rubles.

Currently, the criminal investigation is completed. The Criminal case with the indictment has been sent to the Anzhero-Sudzhensky city court.
