As part of the information verification procedure the Traffic Police of the Nikolaevsky District, together with colleagues from the Territorial Division for combating organized crime in the city of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur stopped a car. A 43-year-old man was behind the wheel of the vehicle, who told the Police that he carried nothing prohibited for transportation.
During the search of the car in the cache, which was located under the rear passenger seat, the Police found 17 cubitainers of 0.5 liters, which contained 8.5 kg of caviar of sturgeon species. The man had no documents confirming the legality of the found fish products.
Currently the cubitainers with the forbidden delicacy have been seized and sent for analysis.
A criminal case was initiated on the fact of illegal hunting and trafficking of especially valuable wild animals and aquatic biological resources referring to the species included in the Red Book of the Russian Federation."
