Investigators of the MIA General Administration for the Krasnoyarsk Territory sent to court a criminal case against four men accused of illegal logging on a large scale in the territory of the Abansky District.
The crimes were identified by officers of the unit of Economic Security and Combating the Corruption of the Territorial General Administration during aerial surveillance of the district.
The investigators found that a 52-year-old man experienced in organizing illegal logging was involved in the crime. On his instruction, three fellers in the period from November 2013 to February 2014 cut down about 4 thousand cubic meters of softwood, which was subsequently sold. The damage to forestry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory exceeded 12 million rubles.
The organizer of the illegal logging and loggers were prosecuted for committing a crime stipulated by article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal felling of forest plantations on a large scale."
