The delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia took part in opening the Interpol Global Center for Innovation

Today in Singapore, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov,  heading the delegation of the Russian MIA, took part in the opening ceremony of the Interpol Global Center for Innovation.

The event was attended by Secretary General of Interpol J. Stock, President of Interpol M. Ballestrazzi, Director of the Center N. Nakatani, as well as senior officials of law enforcement agencies of leading members of Interpol.

Igor Zubov declared the readiness of the Russian police to active participation in the activities of the Interpol Global Center for Innovation and to full cooperation in solving the tasks set for the new division. "Russian MIA has considerable successful experience of combating crime in the sphere of information technologies, and we are ready to share it with our foreign partners," - said the State Secretary - Deputy Minister.

The project of establishing the Center, which, in fact, will become the second headquarters of the Organization along with the current one in Lyon, France, is being implemented by the Interpol General Secretariat since March 2010

The event also had on its agenda a ministerial meeting on issues of combating the cybercrime, where the leaders were able to exchange views and to plan joint actions to protect citizens from illegal encroachments.

The activities of the Interpol new division will focus on the following areas: combating cybercrime and corruption in sports, research in the field of computer security and the development of new tools to combat crime, police training.

The Center also aims to provide a platform for cooperation with other international organizations, government agencies, Interpol member countries, as well as with partners from the private sector.

First of all, the interaction with private companies, specializing in software development and application of computer technologies.
