Viktor Mikhailov was born in 1924 in Troitsk in the Chelyabinsk Region. In winter 1942, he was sent to the Northern Front where he defended Leningrad for two years. Later, he served in Germany and in the Transbaikal Military District.
After having served in the army as a military medical assistant for 16 years, Viktor Mikhailov joined the militia where he worked for 35 years. He retired in 1992. Having retired, the veteran continued his work in militia for another 10 years at non-rated positions.
Colonel of the Internal Service Viktor Mikhailov was decorated by the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd Degree and the Order of the Red Star, the Medals “For Combat Services” and “For Defense of Stalingrad”.
Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Russian MIA General Administration for the Chelyabinsk Region Valery Maskaev congratulated Viktor Mikhailov who turned 91, presented gifts to him, and wished him many happy years ahead.
