Visit of Deputy Chief of the MIA Administration on Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Lieutenant-Colonel of Militia Zoir Kamolov and Deputy Chief of the MIA Linear Division on the railway in Dushanbe, Militia Lieutenant-Colonel Oymahmad Faizulloev was held in accordance with the decision of the Joint Board of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan on 27 August 2013.
The main objective of this meeting was to consider the practical issues of cooperation between law-enforcement bodies on the transport of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan in shutting down the channels of transporting narcotics, psychotropic substances and their precursors by rail and air transport.
Under the chairmanship of Chief of the MIA General Administration on Transport, Police Lieutenant-General Dmitry Sharobarov there was held a joint meeting at which the parties discussed the results of cooperation in shutting down the transportation of drugs from Tajikistan to Russia.
Having discussed the issues of cooperation, the two parties shared the view that the threat of drug proliferation requires further strengthening of cooperation and realization of joint measures to shut down the channels of drugs transportation.
Operational cooperation in the detection and control of drug-related crimes on transport between the two countries has been the subject of a working meeting of operational staff of the MIA General Administration on Transport with representatives of the Transport Militia in Tajikistan. There were discussed perspective forms and methods of cooperation, worked out specific investigative measures and expressed mutual readiness to increase the speed of exchanging the information of interest.
In addition to meetings the colleagues from the Transport Militia of Tajikistan were offered a program that allowed them to explore the experience of the Russian law-enforcement bodies in combating drug trafficking, the use of special technical means and the work of service dog service.
Having visited the MIA Service Dog Center for the CFD and having estimated its capacity representatives of the Transport Militia of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed their interest in studying the experience of training and using dogs in railway and air transport objects. At the request of foreign colleagues there was included into the plan the analysis of the issue of internship of Tajik dog-handlers next year in the MIA Service Dog Center.
A thorough acquaintance with the practical activities of police units on transport ensuring law enforcement and public safety on serviced sites of railway transport, acquaintance with the use of special equipment for the detection of arms, explosives and drugs in the passenger traffic, was held on the basis of the MIA Linear Administration on the Moscow-Ryazanskaya station.
As a result of the visit, there was signed a protocol of the joint meeting, which reflects the agreements reached.
