The Investigation Administration of the MIA for the Republic of Mordovia completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 44-year-old local resident. The man is accused of committing 24 episodes of fraud.
It has been established, that he borrowed money from acquaintances as interest-bearing debt - allegedly for the development of his car rental firm. The loan amounts were ranging from 50 thousand to 1 million rubles. In addition, he promised four of the victims his assistance in the purchase of cars. After receiving the money for the car purchase, the man rented cars of relevant brands from the car rental companies in Moscow and brought them to Saransk under the guise of purchased cars. After a while the car owners were approached by representatives of car rental companies and were informed that the vehicles were rented.
Thus, the malefactor's activities hit 12 people. The amount of damage caused to the victims amounted to about 10 million rubles.
At the moment the criminal case has been sent to the court.
