The General Investigation Administration of the MIA General Administration for the Kemerovo Region has sent to court a criminal case against a 25-year-old resident of Novosibirsk. He was charged with selling counterfeit money.
The investigation of this criminal case began in August 2012. Then, in the major cities of the Kemerovo Region - Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Belov, Mezhdurechensk and others - there appeared in circulation high-quality fake banknotes with par value of 5,000 rubles. Criminal proceedings were initiated on these episodes.
Officers of the Administration of economic security and combating the corruption of the MIA General Administration in the Kemerovo Region identified members of an organized group, specializing in the distribution of counterfeit banknotes in different regions of Russia. The group included residents of Novosibirsk and Mezhdurechensk of the Kemerovo Region .
In May 2013 the police received information that the traffickers of counterfeit money plan to sell a large batch of fakes in Siberia, including the city of Omsk. Officers of the MIA General Administration in the Kemerovo Region forwarded the information to their colleagues. As a result, at the sale of counterfeit 5000 rubles banknotes in Omsk there were detained red-handed members of an organized group. All of them are now under arrest. As a result of a special operation there were seized from the suspects more than 500 counterfeit five thousand ruble banknotes totaling more than 2.5 million rubles.
The Police found that the members of the group acquired large batches of counterfeit five thousand ruble banknotes in Moscow, and then transported them to Novosibirsk. The Kemerovo Region was one of the sites of selling the fakes. In various stores traffickers acquired goods worth no more than 800 rubles, paying for them with counterfeit banknotes. Investigators collected evidence linking the accused to the storage and sale of nearly 400 banknotes with a face value of 5 thousand rubles in the region. All of them were seized in the course of the ciminal case investigation.
Currently,charges against the man have been presented. The criminal cases were sent to the Central District Court of Kemerovo.
