The tradition of awarding the Prizes of the Russian MIA is more than two decades old.
Every year the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in a ceremony of presenting state awards and departmental insignia to employees and servicemen, anticipating the celebration of the professional holiday - Day of an employee of the Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, rewards those whose work, results of creative and scientific activities increase the prestige of service in the internal Affairs bodies and in the Internal Troops of the Russian MIA, contribute to winning the public confidence in the police.
Laureates - Winners of Award nominations: "Literature", "Sculpture and decorative arts", "Painting", "Musical Art", "Cinematography", "Science and Technology", are awarded with the badge and a diploma of "Laureate of the Russian MIA,"; "St. George"; prize and a monetary reward.
At various times, the laureates of the Russian MIA Prizes became Iosif Kobzon, Mikhail Zharov, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Vsevolod Sanayev, Vassily Lanovoi, Georgy Zhzhenov, Ludmila Zykina, Rinat Ibragimov, Nadezhda Babkina, Yevgeny Zharikov, Nikolai Karachentsev, Valentina Tolkunova, Lev Leshchenko, Vladimir Berezin, Larisa Dolina, Alexander Malinin, Oleg Gazmanov, Natalia Gvozdikova, Andrei Nikolsky, Valery Leontiev, Yuri Antonov, Nikolai Baskov, Alexander Bujnov, Igor Livanov, Boris Galkin, Vladimir Konkin, Zurab Tsereteli, Boris Karamyshev, Vladimir Vysotsky, Mark Minkov, Michail Tanich, Sergei Mikhalkov, Igor Sharp, Igor Krutoy, Igor Matvienko and other figures of culture and science.
There have been received by the Commission from the agencies, organizations, units of the Russian MIA 70 nominations for the prizes of the Russian MIA in the field of literature and art, science and engineering in 2014, which are scheduled for consideration at the meeting on 23 October.
