Investigative unit of the MIA Administration for the Primorsky Territory completed the investigation of the criminal case against members of an organized group suspected of committing a series of extortions against inhabitants of the town of Arsenyev, Yakovlevsky and Anuchinsky districts of the Primorsky Territory.
During the preliminary investigation it was found that a previously convicted for property crimes resident of Arsenyev involved into illegal activities eight citizens aged from 17 to 28 years. Under false pretenses and threatening with use of physical force, the malefactors forced the victims pay them large sums of money.
In addition, during the investigative, operational and procedural actions the police suppressed the activity of charitable public organization that existed under the patronage of the criminal group leader.
Within the framework of the criminal investigation, there were undertaken the necessary investigative actions aimed at consolidating the evidence base in the criminal case: interrogations, confrontations, forensic and judicial examinations. There was proved the involvement of the accused in the five facts of illegal activities.
The criminal group members are in custody. Investigative activities have been completed. The criminal case with the approved indictment has been submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.
