A 75-year old resident of the Motovilikhinsky District of Perm got a call at her home telephone number from a man. By his voice, the pensioner believed that she was talking to her son. He notified her that he had got in a traffic accident and needed 125 thousand roubles. The caller noticed that she should give the cash to an acquaintance.
After a while, a man came at the pensioner's house, and she gave him all her savings – 50 thousand roubles. Later, the old woman found out that her son was all right and was not involved in any traffic accident. The complainant applied to the police.
A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the fraud. The policemen implemented a package plan of investigative work. They established the identity of the man suspected of having committed the offense. He was a 22-year old resident of the Chastinsky District. The young man was detained and convoyed to the duty unit. It was found that he had been previously convicted for a similar crime.
That citizen is now under arrest. The investigation is ongoing; the policemen are establishing the suspect's complicity in other frauds.
