Officers of the Administration of Economic Security and Combating the Corruption and of the Criminal Investigation of the MIA Administration for the Kamchatka Territory detained suspects in the illegal extraction of biological resources.
On a base, located 20 kilometers away from the village Krutogorovsky of the Sobolevsky District of the Kamchatka Territory, two employees were detained "red-handed". The men were pulling out crab traps with their catch. In addition to that, on the beach in one of the premises of the base the police found the already frozen cooked crab meat. In total, from the detainees there were seized ten freshly caught king crabs, about 64 kg of processed crab meat, as well as five fishes of chinook salmon weighing 47.4 kg. In the boat of the suspects there were found a 25-meter fishing net and crab traps.
A criminal investigation into the illegal catch of aquatic biological resources has been initiated.
