In the Murmansk Region the Police detained a person suspected of illegal fishing of the red king crab
In the Murmansk Region there continues the implementation of the preventive operation "Putina-2014", which aims at identifying and suppressing the illegal harvesting of living aquatic resources in inland waters of the Murmansk Region.
During the operation, the police detained a 45-year-old unemployed resident of the town of Zaozersk with whom there were found and seized several plastic containers with limbs of red king crab.
The Police found that the man in the waters of Guba Nerpichiya in the area of Zaozersk using a motorboat and previously prepared devices for catching crabs, caught illegally more than 30 species of the red king crab.
A criminal investigation into the illegal catch of aquatic biological resources has been initiated.
