Officers of the Administration of economic security and combating the corruption of the MIA General Administration for the Voronezh Region, together with colleagues from the Belgorod Region detained a 28-year-old and a 33-year-old resident of the city of Voronezh when they were selling counterfeit banknotes.
The malefactors bought a batch of counterfeit banknotes with a denomination of five thousand rubles at a price below their nominal value. After the transfer of the counterfeit money and getting paid for them, the suspects were detained by the police.
In a private car of the detainees there were found eighty banknotes with a denomination of five thousand rubles. The banknotes were sent for analysis, the results of which indicated that they were fake.
A criminal case under the article "Manufacture, storage, transportation or sale of counterfeit money or securities" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was initiated. The Police check the detainees for involvement in similar offenses.
