Operatives of the Linear Police Division on Air Transport of the MIA Western Linear Administration on Transport detained at the "Hrabrovo" airport a citizen of Kazakhstan, who was internationally wanted on suspicion of fraud on a large scale.
The Police found that in November 2013 a 32-year employee of the customs post of Astana by prior agreement with his acquaintances introduced himself as a police officer and imprisoned a resident of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Then, the malefactors called his mother via a mobile phone and told that her son was in the police and a criminal case would be initiated against him. To prevent this, she was supposed to pay 7000 dollars. However, the woman suspected that she was cheated and called the police.
In mid-December 2013 a criminal case was initiated against the employee of the customs post, but he escaped from the investigation and was put on the wanted list.
Currently, the detainee is placed in temporary detention for subsequent extradition. Initiators of the investigation have been informed of his detention.
