The General Investigative Administration of the MIA General Administration for the Irkutsk Region sent to court a criminal case against members of an organized group engaged in illegal forest felling on a large scale in the territory of the Chunsk district.
The investigation established that the illegal business was organized in 2011 by a local businessman, engaged in legal woodworking. He offered his two buddies the positions of foremen. The established teams were felling for two years relict pines in the Chunsk District. All the illegally cut wood with fake bills of lading was sent to the warehouse, and then processed. The total material damage amounted to 13 million rubles.
During the operative and search activities three main members of the group were detained. It turned out that only the foremen and the organizer knew about the illegal character of the wood cutting enterprise whereas the workers were assured of the legality of the business.
During the investigation the accused fully offset the damage.
