Officers of the Administration for Economic Security and Combating the Corruption of the MIA Administration for the city of Stavropol detained the suspect of fraudulent acts.
Earlier, police division No. 1 received several statements from local citizens who suffered from the unlawful actions of one of the law firms.
The investigation found that the head of the so-called legal center together with unidentified persons from among the employees of the company through a call center attracted customers and offered assistance in resolving various legal disputes. Having received money from the victims as a payment for services, they did not fulfill their contractual obligations. In addition, at signing of all the documents, the offenders attached to them blank forms of acts of acceptance of the legal work performed, which the deceived citizens signed. Thus, they got additional insurance for the case of clients applying to law enforcement agencies and the court.
As a result of operational search activities, police officers found that a 30-year-old resident of Rostov was involved in unlawful activities. The man was detained and taken to the Office of the MIA of Russia Administration for the city of Stavropol.
In the course of the work, the investigators found that in addition to the capital of the Territory, the offender organized similar legal protection centers in Rostov, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Kaliningrad, the main activity of which was to provide legal assistance to citizens.
Currently, 55 victims have applied with statements of fraud to the City Police Division No.1. The total amount of the damage caused exceeded two million rubles.
During the searches at the place of residence of the head of the company, as well as in the offices of St. Petersburg, Rostov and Stavropol, items, accounting and other documents, as well as funds relevant to the criminal case and confirming the illegal activities of the head of the center, were seized.
As part of the criminal investigation, the investigator appointed a computer, handwriting examination, as well as financial, economic and accounting studies.
The investigation division No. 1 of the Investigation Administration of the MIA of Russia Administration for the city of Stavropol initiated two criminal investigations into the revealed facts on the grounds of a crime under part 2, part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
At the request of the investigator, a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody was selected with respect to the director of the center of legal protection. Currently, the necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being carried out aimed at documenting the illegal activities of the citizen and establishing all participants.
