A meeting of the Russian-Mongolian working group on cross-border cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia took place. The MIA of Russia delegation was headed by State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov, from the Mongolian side – by Deputy Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia Ganbat Besuud Elbagsaikhan.
Igor Zubov emphasized the effectiveness of interaction between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and Mongolia in various areas of operational activities. One of the priority areas is still the cross-border cooperation, where it is necessary to develop operational contacts between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries located in adjacent territories.
The parties have discussed the main directions of the fight against drug trafficking, which today is the most dangerous and well-organized type of criminal business, as well as the identification and suppression of financial flows associated with it. It was emphasized that payments in this illegal segment went into electronic payment systems using the most advanced technologies.
The event participants also considered issues of training personnel for Mongolian law enforcement agencies at educational institutions of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At the end of the meeting, a protocol of the working group meeting was signed.
