Valentina Kazakova took part in Joint Russian-Latvian working group meeting on combating illegal migration

In the city of Yaroslavl, the fourteenth meeting of the Joint Russian-Latvian working group on combating illegal migration was held.

The Russian delegation was led by the Chief of the MIA of Russia Main Directorate for Migration, Police Major-General Valentina Kazakova, and the Latvian one by the Head of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia, General Guntis Puyats.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the migration situation in the territory of the states and drew attention to the identified trends in this direction. Legislative innovations in the field of migration were examined, and experience of implementation of measures aimed at combating the illegal migration was analyzed.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to continue the exchange of information on revealed facts of the organization of illegal migration in the border territories.

Following the meeting, a corresponding Protocol was signed. The next meeting is scheduled to be held in 2020 in the Republic of Latvia.
