On November 28, 2019, at the MIA of Russia Academy of Management, a scientific and practical conference was held on the topic: “Artificial Intelligence (Big Data) in the Service of the Police”, organized jointly with the General Information and Analytical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia”.
The conference was attended by representatives of our Ministry, as well as a number of state and commercial organizations, with the participation of leading scientists and experts in the field of modern information and communication technologies, the work with big data, and the use of artificial intelligence.
Opening the plenary session, Deputy Chief of the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Colonel N. V. Pavlichenko noted that the plan was to discuss the most pressing issues of introducing and using the achievements of science and technology in this area.
The Deputy Chief of the Academy emphasized that the relevance of the conference topics was increasing every year. Changes and events taking place in our country and the world are this or that way related to information technology. In this regard, it is logical that the head of our state repeatedly addresses this topic, and that there has been published a Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 10.10.2019 No. 490 “On the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Russian Federation” together with the “National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for the period until 2030”.
The conference was moderated by an adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Major-General in retirement, V. S. Ovchinsky.
During the plenary session, leading Russian experts in the field of high technologies, the work with big data, and the use of artificial intelligence in ensuring national security, representing various federal, scientific, commercial and educational organizations made presentations.
The second part of the event was held as part of a round table.
According to the results of the conference, with account of the requirements of modern realities, rational foundations of past experience, there were developed proposals in promising areas of research and the use of artificial intelligence in the activities of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation.
