Double extradition to Lithuania of wanted by Interpol

Officers of the National Central Bureau of Interpol together with the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia executed a double extradition from Russia to Lithuania. Lithuanian citizens Casimir Stankevich, born in 1979, and Podzhunas Vatily, born in 1980 were expelled from the country.

Podzhunas was wanted by foreign competent authorities for the attack on the grounds of personal animosity. As a result of his actions the victim has lost one eye and, according to experts, has been disabled to more than one-third.

A criminal case was initiated with regard to this incident and the person accused of the attack was put on the Interpol Wanted List.

Kazimir Stankevich was wanted internationally for economic crimes. In 2007, he signed with a Lithuanian leasing company a lease contract entitling him to use and dispose of a car. However, having no plans for using the car, he sold it and disappeared.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against Stankevich on the fact of committing an illegal transaction of selling the leased transport vehicle. He was put on the Interpol Wanted List.
