Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel-General Vladimir Kolokoltsev was demonstrated in Tel Aviv the operation of security of "Ben-Gurion” international airport.
Roni Tidhar, the head of the airport security showed in particular to the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs the multilevel security system: immediately in front of the airport entrance there is a buffer zone, where security officers watch the passengers entering the airport territory and inspect their luggage. Near the building of the airport complex there is a duty shift of dog handlers with dogs.
Vladimir Kolokoltsev was demonstrated the organization of passengers’ screening, and was also informed that the airport terminal building had special glazing, which was able to minimize the effect of the blast wave.
After familiarizing the Ministry delegation with the concept and practical ensuring of citizens’ safety at the international airport, the parties agreed on transport security training of Russian police in Israel. It is planned that in the near future a group of employees of the Russian MIA Main Department for Transport will arrive to Israel for training in the area of citizen security at transport infrastructural objects.
In addition, the Minister during his stay in Israel will visit the Ministry of Public Security and will have a meeting with his counterpart Yitzhak Aharonovich, as well as with the Deputy Prime Minister of Israel - Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
The Head of the Russian MIA will also get acquainted with the work of the video control center of police and of the commissariat of Old City of Jerusalem, will visit the headquarters of the Israeli police and the Mohave base of the border troops, where the Minister will be briefed on the operation methods of Israeli special units.
