Police officers of the MIA subdivision for Nyurbinskiy District in Antonovka village noticed fire on the roof of an outbuilding of a house and rushed to the place of the accident. It was found out that five kids were staying in the house – the youngest girl turned eight months on the previous day. The baby and her two and three year old sisters were under supervision of school-girls from a neighboring house. The kids in another room did not notice that a fire started on the stove.
Inspectors of MIA Juvenile Division Police Captain Evdokiya Petrova and Police Senior Lieutenant Aytalina Gavrilyeva ran into the house and led the children outside. At the same time assistant precinct police officer - senior warrant officer Gennady Illarionov was extinguishing the fire. By the arrival of fire-brigade the fire was localized.
The Minister of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Major General Viktor Koshelev received a letter from the Antonovka villagers asking for rewarding the police officers who had saved the lives of five children.
