In the hero city of Volgograd, the opening of a meeting-seminar of chiefs of juvenile units and temporary detention centers for juvenile offenders of the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the regional level, deployed in the North Caucasus, Southern and Volga Federal Districts, of the MIA of Russia Administrations on Transport in the North - Caucasus, Southern and Volga Federal Districts took place.
At the opening of the plenary meeting, Deputy Chief of the MIA of Russia Main Directorate for Public Safety and Coordination of Interactions with Executive Bodies of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation Major General Vadim Gaidov delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized the special importance of work with adolescents in cooperation with the bodies of the prevention system and of the adoption of timely preventive measures aimed at suppressing the recurrent juvenile crimes and those committed as part of a group.
“Thanks to the measures taken over the past five years, juvenile delinquency has decreased by 27%. Nevertheless, facts of minors’ cruelty and aggression were noted,” said Deputy Chief of the MIA of Russia Main Directorate for Public Safety and Coordination of Interactions with Executive Bodies of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation.
Vadim Gaidov noted that last year about 30 thousand Internet resources of a destructive nature, affecting the consciousness of the younger generation, were blocked, and they should be under special control by law enforcement agencies.
It was not by chance that the Volgograd Region was chosen as the meeting-seminar site. It is here that the police, together with the prevention authorities, successfully implement projects aiming the minors. These are police classes and specialized shifts for difficult teenagers in children's health camps.
“I’m sure that the exchange of practical experience will be useful for all participants of the seminar,” noted Acting chief of the MIA of Russia GA for the Volgograd Region, Colonel of police Sergei Bogachuk.
The participants were also addressed by representatives of the central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and chiefs of the prevention units, whose activities cover the work with minors and their environment. Within the framework of the seminar, the participants will exchange experience in the prevention of juvenile delinquency, deviant behavior of minors, their neglect, homelessness, injuries in transport, staying in temporary detention centers for juvenile offenders, and will discuss current issues of interaction.
