A local resident turned to the MIA of Russia duty unit of the police division No. 1 in Vladikavkaz. She said that jewelry was missing from her apartment. This happened when the woman was not at home. The total value of the seized property made 900 thousand rubles.
Criminal investigation officers of the police division No. 1 in Vladikavkaz conducted a series of operational-search measures and identified the alleged offender. The suspect turned to be a 35-year-old resident of the Zavodskoy settlement. Already in the police division, he confessed of the offense and explained that he had committed the crime as a result of experiencing financial difficulties. As it turned out, the offender, taking advantage of free access to the apartment, stole the woman’s apartment keys, and then, unhindered, seized the jewelry. The offender pledged the stolen items to a pawnshop, and spent the money on personal needs.
The suspect has been prosecuted in accordance with the features of a crime stipulated by part 3 of Article 158 “Theft” of the Russian Criminal Code. This article presumes a punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years.
